Hello Everyone!
This week was a great one! We had some amazing experiences and miracles! We had a couple Family Home Evenings in member's homes where we had investigators come. Those are so amazing and so fun! Wednesday we had a very eventful day. We texted our district leader and asked him to give us a finding challenge for the day. He didn't text us back until about 2:00. He challenged us to to hand out 50 mormon.org cards before 9:00. We had a couple appointments and a scripture study class that we were going to. We were lacking a little faith that we could do it but we accepted the challenge. We had an amazing appointment with an investigator named Rebecca who has been so busy the past month and we haven't been able to meet with her. She told us that she wanted to be baptized as soon as she could and said that she would come to church this Sunday. Then we handed out a few of the mormon.org cards and then had to go the the scripture study class. Our 8:00 appointment fell through and with 25 minutes left of the night we still had 27 mormon.org cards to hand out. Wow! So we decided on a neighbor hood. When we got there we decided to drive around and stop and talk to every one who was outside. We did. It was so much fun and we ended up handing out 30 mormon.org cards! WOW. 53 in one day! It was amazing! The amazing thing was that with all 53 of those people we not only gave them a card but also talked to them briefly about the website or about us being representatives of Jesus Christ. We got a few weird looks but only 2 people turned us down. It was incredible and really exciting!
This week we also went and taught the word of wisdom to a Matthew and Debbie. It went great! Matthew was so excited. He let us dump his alcohol down the sink! He told us that when he finished his container of tobacco he would not buy any more. He called us a little while after we left and said that he threw it away! Hah! It was great! He said that it makes him sick now. We are so blessed to have the Word of Wisdom to help us be healthy and in tune with the spirit. I was studying it and wow, there are so many blessing promised to us if we live the word of wisdom! And it isn't just about not partaking of alcohol, tobacco, coffee, tea, illegal drugs and other harmful or addictive substances. Its about eating healthy, portion control, self control, and exercising. And the blessings that we are promised aren't all physical. Most of them are spiritual. It is incredible. Heavenly Father is so wise and so loving.
We met a man named Bryan this week. He is so sweet and so loving. While we were talking to him he told us that he has always felt compelled to move to Utah. What?? He is a veteran and has been through so much. He came to church and liked it. Also, Rebecca came to church and brought her cousin! Wow. It was wonderful! Her cousin, Linda was wonderful and we will begin teaching her this week. She even got up and bore her testimony in sacrament meeting! They were so loved and so welcomed by the ward. It really was incredible. I am so excited for them to progress towards baptism!
Love Always,
Sister Kasteler
