The Hendricks area is going great. We had a wonderful week. It seriously FLEW by so fast! Sister DeSpain and I found a bunch of potential investigators and had so much fun doing it. We had interviews with President Craig this week. That is always a wonderful experience.

Last night we had dinner at Elder and Sister Rhoads' apartment. Elder and Sister Rhoads are the senior couple who serve in the office and Elder Rhoads is in charge of the mission vehicles, all 101 of them. One of the less active ladies we are working with works at Pep Boys and knows Elder Rhoads pretty well because he takes cars in there all the time. He invited her and us over for dinner and it was so much fun!

Alright, story time. So Sister DeSpain and I were knocking on the door of this LA member. She didn't answer but there was a guy in the parking lot getting something out of his truck. We started talking to him and it was pretty awkward. He said he was headed to work so we asked if we could come back another time. He said his name was David and that he lived in apartment 545.  So we told him we would come back the next day. So we went back and he didn't answer the door. I pulled out my sticky notes and started writing him a note and this lady walked up. She had a surprised/confused face and asked who we were looking for. We asked her if David lived there and she said yes but that he was sleeping. So we asked her to give him the note. We left and didn't think anything else of it. Well about 2 hours later we were eating lunch at Subway, and while we were eating the phone started ringing. Well we missed the call but we called back a few minutes later. The guy on the other line said "Two ladies knocked on my door earlier today and left a note." My mind went blank so I asked him who it was and he said his name was David. What? People never call back when we leave notes! He then told us that he was running to the corner store really fast but that we could come in 10 minutes. Hah! So we drove to his apartment and knocked on the door. He said "just a minute" then answered the door. Sister DeSpain and I were SO caught off guard! This was definitely not the same guy that we talked to the day before! Anyways, he came outside and before we even said anything he asked us when and where our church meets and said he would come next week. Then we had a lovely restoration lesson with him and he committed to read the Book of Mormon and pray! GOD WORKS IN MYSTERIOUS WAYS. It was so funny! We are guessing that the other guy didn't want to talk to us so he told us his name was David and sent us to his neighbor. Little did he know, he was inspired to refer us to his neighbor.

What else.... we started talking to a guy on the side of the street. Before we could say anything to him about the gospel, he started talking about the Book of Mormon and asked us about Alma. We were not expecting that. He says that he was once a member. He told us that he was baptized when he was 15 and is now 49 years old. The search for his records is now underway. I am continually impressed by God's ability to put people in our path! I am so grateful for God's hand in this work!

That's about it for this week.

Have a blessed day, y'all!

Always,
